Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is always a fun time to take a break from school before finals. This Thanksgiving was

more special than most because my brother, the second youngest of the family, was finally able to

come home for a longer period of time. He goes to a college five hours away and is enrolled in their

ROTC program so he spends most weekends training.  and it It was also my final Thanksgiving

break as a college student. 

The break wasn’t that different from the rest. I didn’t do any homework, I watched a lot of movies and

saw my family. There were only a few differences this Thanksgiving. The first was that I met my

boyfriend’s parents for the first time. Basically we just ate pizza and watched the Ohio State football

game so it was pretty uneventful but also fun. The second thing that Thanksgiving was held in

Columbus instead of at my grandma’s house. My aunt is pregnant and is due within the next week

so we decided that it was best if she didn’t travel. The third thing that was different is my older dog

Maggie isn’t up and around like normal. Like a lot of you have read in a past blog post, Maggie is 11

years old and is having some trouble eating and walking. Before all of my siblings left for college, we

made a memorial ornament that has Maggie’s paw stamped into it. 

Even though my Thanksgiving was different than the last couple years, it was still good. My next

Thanksgiving will be even more different. Next Thanksgiving I will be graduated and moved out of

my family home. Change is good and life will always be evolving, so I better get used to it.
