Creating A Content Strategy
What are your overall goals as a brand or company? This is the main component to your strategy,
along with how you want to execute your goals. You need to stay true to your vision, mission and
brand voice while doing this. It is key for every area of content and your message. It all needs to be
aligned and strategically designed for every platform. To get started on creating a new content
strategy for your social media platforms, you need to set up a brand voice and style guidelines. All of
your content will share the same voice of your brand, person, and account. Along with this, you need
to follow a writing style guide. This includes words to promote content. Style guidelines will describe
the dos and don’ts of your content creation and techniques.
Once you create these guidelines, you have to decide on which platforms you want to put your
content on. Options include blogs and landing pages that could be shared on social media or you
could post content straight on social media platforms (Facebook videos, Instagram stories, Snapchat
stories, Twitter posts, etc.) You will choose platforms depending on your audience and what they
prefer. When doing all these things, you have to remember that you are promoting a specific good or
service to an audience that you will have to persuade and to continue to entertain with your content.
