Social Media Writing Styles

Every brand and professional should have a specific writing style and tone for their communication
that takes place on social media platforms. It is one of the most important things to decide before
executing any written content. Your writing style guide will provide a consistent format for writing,
framing, and executing messages on all channels depending on different situations. My two favorite
fast food brands on Twitter include Wendy’s and Taco Bell. They have both have unique writing
styles that I really connect with.

Wendy’s chose a really snarky and spunky writing style. They integrate their attitude and snarkiness
into their content to entertain and promote reactions to posts. Wendy’s is specifically successfully on
Twitter. In 2017 the social media manager took over and started to engage with the audience
members in a more conversational way. Wendy’s has been praised for their method and has been
more successful than most. Taco Bell has also taken an interesting tone with their social media
content. They use humor and cleverness in their brand messages. They seem to lead in the art of
being creative and witty. This method makes their content memorable and invited the audience to
interact with their account. The wit added on to a conversational and fun tone makes it stand out
from other brands. Wendy’s and Taco Bell are like no other brands on Twitter.

These two brands are probably the only two fast food accounts I follow and interact with on Twitter. I
think that their social media tone is very amazing and I think other think so too. There are so many
people that interact with their content and actually enjoy it.
