Tastemade Home's Success

In this week's readings we discussed the importance of creating content to lead to an increase in interactions and followers. It stated goals when creating content is to be interesting, visual and brief. When reading this Tastemade Home’s Instagram page immediately came to mind. Their page is described as a global community for home and design lovers. The page currently has 2,236 posts and 461K followers. Their content is extremely impressive and very thought out. It includes videos and photos of DIYs, artists’ work, crafts, and home decor. Their video content in my opinion is what draws people to its page. Video content might include satisfying videos of mugs being thrown on a pottery wheel, embroidery coming to life or dog-friendly DIYs. Tastemade Home does an excellent job at not repeating content and keeping a constant feed of new posts. The page interacts and encourages local artists to follow and tag the page in posts in hopes of landing their own work on the page. They partner with other brands in posts to benefit both pages by bringing in new followers for both pages. An example of this is their partnership with BEHR chalk paint. Tastemade Home took this trend and created a video featuring their unique content and BEHR’s quality paint products. The Tastemade Home page is extremely fascinating to the eye. It encourages you to follow and interact with the page more because of the attractive bright colors. What I believe has the most contribution to making this page extremely successful is the content cadence. Tastemade Home has made the conscious decision to post fun and interesting feed at least twice a day. With this much content coming in, it is hard for people on social media to not get hooked.
